The Sun of God

Olivia Bown Flinders

When I was a child

I didn’t spell things right

And I thought the Son of God

was actually

the Sun of God

So every time

I looked at the sun

I thought I was looking at Jesus

Hey Jesus

while I ran on the playground

Hey Jesus

while I rolled in the grass

Hey Jesus

while I swam in the ocean

Jesus makes me warm!

Jesus gives me light!

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam!

And now looking back

I think I was spelling Sun right

all along
